The cache offers a view of the South Fork of the American River as it becomes Folsom Lake as well as the Salmon Falls Bridge over the river.
The cache is an olive ammo box.
Be aware that this is not an urban cache. Effort must be expended to reach it. There are no paved paths. Get over it. That said, there is nearby parking and the trail is short. Note that there were no parking fees when the cache was placed, if there are now, thank your state government warmly.
For those of you that logged this cache some time ago, it is worth a revisit now and then as the river/lakes water level rises and falls. Also be on the lookout for migrating birds and seasonal wildflowers.
This is a very old cache. It was placed not too long after SA was turned off in 2001. Turning off selective accuracy allowed the start of practical geocaching. Due to it's longevity, the brush around the cache has grown and changed over the years, and with any luck, it will continue to present a challenge for years to come. It is part of the charm of this cache.
