‘Cold Country’ Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ngaambul: As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it. Should you replace the cache after 30 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Geocache Description:

Aboriginal people of the Kulin clans are the custodians of traditional lands that include the tall timber forests east of Melbourne. Speakers of the Woi wurrung and Daung wurrung languages called this 'cold country' — the area where their territories meet in the hinterland of the Great Dividing Range.

A news item in 1907 announced that there was a mountain in the Yarra Valley that was higher than Mounts Macedon, Dandenong and Juliet. It was also higher than any mountain in England, yet it was a little known fact and did not appear on any maps. This mountain was Donna Buang.
Mount Donna Buang provides distant views from an observation tower, in summer bushwalkers frequent the walking tracks and in winter snow play is popular.
