Fly Like an Eagle Virtual Cache

This cache has been archived.

Keystone: I am archiving this listing because the owner has not visited the website since January 5, 2004, and attempts to contact the owner have been unsuccessful. E-mails through the GC.com e-mail system bounce, making it impossible for this owner to receive verification e-mails from visitors to this cache.

This action is taken in accordance with the virtual cache maintenance guidelines found here: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#addvirt
The guidelines say that "you must maintain your virtual cache's web page and respond to inquiries and periodically check the physical location. You should also return to the Geocaching.com web site at least once a month to show you are still active. Virtual caches posted and "abandoned" may be archived by the site. The poster will assume the responsibility of quality control of logged “finds” for the virtual cache, and will agree to delete any “find” logs that appear to be bogus, counterfeit, off topic, or not within the stated requirements."

Geocache Description:

A small parking area along Lackwaxen River.

The cache is named after the Steve Miller Band song of the same name. It is in memory of the Columbia Crew and the disaster which occured the day before this cache was placed.

This area is known for sightings of Bald Eagles. There is a Bald Eagle in the attached picture (but because I don't have a zoom on the camera, you can't see it - but it is there just across the river and was easy to see even without binoculars) - and that is why you are going to this beautiful area - to see these majestic birds. The best viewing is before noon - but you can spot them any time of the day. There are 55 nesting pairs in NEPA, so the eagles are here year-round.

To claim this as a cache - email me what the LARGE sign in the parking lot says.
