Geocache Description:

Located on LC Forest Preserve property.

Here's a standard cache in a somewhat more inaccessible location. There are no trails whatsoever. In summer, this will be more difficult.

Located in the heart of Lake County, this property of the Forest Preserve District has not been developed. I checked at their offices and this property is open for hiking.

Check out the rookery, it's rare in these parts.

While I was placing the cache, I saw hawks and other birds. On the way back, I came across a large deer skeleton...most of the bones were left and not much else.

The cache is in one of my "signature" peanut butter jars, but it's disguised. It contains a rubber chicken, giant paper clip, 2 rolls of smiley face stickers, a shoehorn, a pink clothespin, paper and pencil. If you'd like to leave something, remember to keep it small. Gold nuggets and coins will fit fine.
