Geocache Description:

LaVerkin Utah Overlook, Fairly Easy, 1.66 miles from Highway 9, 3843 ft elevation.

This cache is out at the LaVerkin Overlook. You will be overlooking LaVerkin and Hurricane Utah from a beautiful vista point. The cache is hidden under a rock, watch for potential snakes before sticking your arm in any crack or crevice. The cache is near the end of a 1.6 mile dirt road off of Highway 9, the same highway that takes you to Zion National Park. The rock formation is Kaibab Limestone, the same limestone that is at the top of the Grand Canyon. You will be standing on the Hurricane Fault; everything to the West is below the fault and has been twisted and turned. To the East is Zion National Park. You can see West Temple towering in the distance. Hurricane Mesa is towards the North East (famous for the military rocket sled testing) and Gooseberry Mesa is towards the South East (world class mountain biking trails). The cache should not be hard to find. Good luck
