A continuation from Part 1. Note; do not start this part of the
hunt using the waypoint described in the web page, it's the same
starting point as part 1. I listed the two parts this way so as to
keep them close to one another on the web page.
Before proceeding, be sure you have completed all steps in part
1. Now, onto waypoint 4…
The fourth Waypoint
Let A=1, B=2, C=3... Z=26.
Convert the word you discovered at the third waypoint into a
5-digit number.
The five-digit number:
Add 12358 to this five-digit number, the result is:
let this be XXXXX
From waypoint two, you recorded two words of what was printed on
a sign. Convert the second word into an 11-digit number. The result
is:
Subtract 16118088196 from this 11-digit number, the result
is:
Let this be YYYYY
The fourth waypoint is N42° XXXXX by W77° YYYYY
You have traveled a ways, why not sit down and enjoy the view?
Take some time to listen to the birds sing. What type of place is
this to Todd? (One word)
Record the word here:
The fifth Waypoint
Let A=1, B=2, C=3... Z=26.
Convert Todd's descriptive word from the forth waypoint into a
12-digit number. The result is:
Take the result and add each digit together (ex: 23593 is
2+3+5+9+3=22). The result is:
Multiply the two numbers. The result is:
Add 16679309775518 to this number. The result is:
This is waypoint five, record it here:
At the cache you will find three words; a person, an
item(mathematical constant), and a place. EDIT BY GPSFOOL: 4/26/08,
This location used to hold a sign, it's no longer there! So... this
should help you out... Drive a further short distance down the road
you are on (go south on the road)... On the left you will see place
known for a dessert product. The "person" I wanted you to see on
the sign is the name of the dessert maker (one word), the item
(mathematical constant) is what the dessert is, the place was
"ahead". you should have enogh info to continue. E-mail if you get
stuck.
Record the person here:
Record the item here:
The sixth waypoint (the actual cache)
Let A=1, B=2, C=3... Z=26.
Convert person (singular) to a 9-digit number. The number
is:
Go to N4a° b9 971 W77° ac 503
a: double the third digit of the nine-digit number
b: is the first digit of the item (Yes, I said ITEM, no typo
here)
c: is the forth digit of the 9-digit number
Record the final waypoint here:
