Oakwoods Nature Preserve & Discovery Center - Located southwest of Findlay off Oakwoods Lane(Rd 144) (near I-75), the best of Hancock County’s habitats can be seen along trails, at Shank Lake (fishing permits required), in forests, wetlands, and the prairie. The Park District’s Richard S. “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center hosts outdoor education activities the year around. Exhibits, field studies, group activities by reservation and loaner-fishing poles for the Lake lead the list. Other features - boardwalk entry, restrooms, and lake overlook.
