Geocache Description:

This cache wants to travel back to Utah. It has been to a Mets game in New York thanks to M&M_NY. Please move it from its current location towards Salt Lake City, Utah so it can return to its baseball fan owner.

Be aware that this is a Moving Cache.
It may be gone by the time you get there. Watch for subtle signs such as a teepee of sticks or an "X" in the ground left by the finder.

Current Status: Has gone missing!.

M&M_NY took the cache to a game on October 2, 2004 where sadly the Mets lost 6-3 to the Montreal Expos. Check the log entry for October 2 for a description of the game and some great pictures. Thanks M&M_NY for getting the cache to a game.

This is the 2004 Edition of the cache. The 2003 Edition had a successful journey thanks to many great cachers. It went it to a Mets game on September 21, 2003 with the help of Team Ekitt10. The game was a very nice pitching dual, with some ninth inning excitment, but the Mets lost to Montreal 4-2.

If you are near any baseball park, major league or otherwise, when you have the cache in your possession, if possible treat the logbook to a game. If you can't go to a game, at least drive by the stadium and let some of the karma of the great game of baseball permeate into the cache's contents. When the logbook gets back to me, I'm sure I will be able to feel the spirit of baseball emanating from its pages.

The cache started out with a some items from last years edition and I've added some new things. Feel free to trade baseball or other sport related items. If you don't have sports items, feel free to trade whatever you like.

Any pictures of the cache and current contents are always appreciated.

The cache is a clear, round, one-half gallon Rubbermaid container with a Mets logo and a view of Shea Stadium visible on its exterior.

Guidelines for moving the cache:

  • Log a note of your intent to hunt for it so others know you going after it.
  • If you find it and take it, please log your find quickly.
  • If possible leave an indicator like a teepee of sticks or an "X" on the ground in it's place to signal to a following geocacher that it's gone.
  • Keep it away from active railroad tracks, away from military installations, and out of National Parks.
  • When you rehide it, please conceal it well and make sure your coordinates are accurate.
  • Don't hide it in a area where crews may do regular ground maintenance.
  • When you post that you have rehidden it, please include the new coordinates and new difficulity/terrain rating.
  • When you report the new location, please make a new entry (Post a Note) so I will receive an email message to alert me of the new position.
