A very nice hike, two miles on the trail to the top of one of the mountains surrounding Thunderbird Park (N. 59th ave & W. Pinnacle Peak rd). A MUCH quicker but steeper hike would be straight up the side of the mountain (watch out for the cacti if you choose the more direct route!).
This cache is named after our sweet Boston Terriers, Moo & Rocky, who hiked the whole way with us (actually, they did better than we did!). They sniffed out a nice spot to place the cache, hence the cache name...
The cache is a N.O.-XPLODE creatine supplement container (red with gray twist cover). Please place rocks on it gently when rehiding - the container will crack if the rocks are thrown on top of it. Thanks!
The trail is on your right JUST as you turn into the drive leading to the Thunderbird Park parking area (on the west side of 59th ave, just south of Pinnacle Peak rd). The trail number is H3 (or you can take H1 to H3). It takes you on a nice hike up and around the entire mountain...you will end where you started. If you hike the trail to this cache, the cache will be just SW of the trail at the summit.
