Geocache Description:

The River Trail

A 10-mile trail is being developed between the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and The Dalles Dam. There are pieces of the trail that have already been completed and are great places to take your dog; kids and yourselves for a nice leisurely walk along the mighty and beautiful Columbia River.

The cache has been replaced!

We don’t want you to have to pack a heavy back pack full of things to trade so we have made these caches a series of mini caches…not quite micros because there are small trading items inside. Drop a few small trinkets into your pockets and just go for a walk.

This series of caches is designed to give you a reason to get down onto the walking, jogging, biking trail and enjoy the view of the water and wild life! We have 7 caches in place along short stretches of the walkway that are accessible at this time.

This is the 2nd cache in the series. You can now get from the boat basin to the Discovery Center! Happy Trails!

Remember the button jar Grandma had? You’re going to wish you had access to it. This cache is a button exchange. The container is a glass cigar tube! Please take a button and leave one. The cigar tube will hold only very tiny items! Buttons! Shirt buttons, dress buttons...buttons off of baby clothes..you know! TINY! I have started the tube with very colorful buttons out of my Grammie's jar!
