Geocache Description:

This cache is in coorperation with the Oklahoma Department of Tourism. This "Discover Oklahoma" Cache is intended to promote tourism and geocaching in Oklahoma State Parks.

A short looped walk into a ravine will transport you down cliffs and back in time to a place of magical beauty. The forest and terrain have surrounded and protected a mystical stone for centuriees. A stream of water rolling down the mountain bursts over the edge of the rocks into a pool below. It seems to point the way to the magical stone. Standing 12 feet tall it defies gravity and provides a link back to the past.

Long before Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, Vikings were believed to have also been exploring the Americas. In fact we know that Native Americans were here long before Columbus. For that reason the treasure you will find here was once called "Indian Rock". We would later learn that these marks were not left by the Indians but by Vikings who used an ancient Runic language.

Take time out to hike the short and very scenic trails that loop through this park. To claim this cache you are required to explore the area and "Discover" the secret of the Stone. The GPS will mark the spot where you can do so. E-mail me the answers to the following questions.

1) What does the Runestone say? What does it mean?
2) Name two places in Oklahoma where other stones have been found.
3) Near this spot find the "Cave Entrance" and tell me why they won't let you go inside.

You may also take a scenic photo of your search party near the "Wishing Well" as an alternate way to claim the cache. Other photos are also encouraged. Do not post any photos of the Stone or photos that give answers to the above questions.
