Great hike to a great spot!
Take the Wiemar exit off I-80. Goto Ponderosa rd. Take until you get to the bridge. Park, and travel on N side of the River. Its about a 2 mile hike on a nice trail that takes you to your reward. This is really a 1 for difficulty of finding the cache, but the terrain is 2.5 for two reasons. One, you have to walk about 4 miles total, and secondly, the last part of the road you travel down is dirt.
I recommend a 4X4, but it is not really necessary.
The road is pretty good, but it is a little bumpy. You must drive about 3 miles on that road. Can be done in passenger car, but you will enjoy it more in a truck or 4X4.
This is a virtual cache, and the object is to first and foremost enjoy the day in this great place, and secondly, find the marker at the cache location. Pack a lunch, and
enjoy the moment at the cache. Springtime is the very best time to go, because its not that hot yet, and the wildflowers are out. March-April is the best time.
