Geocache Description:

This was originally the Socastee Stash Cache but has been moved to this new spot.

This cache hunt will take you for a small hike on a new trail that most locals don't even know about yet.
Please enter at the trail head coordinates, N 33 40.188 W 079 01.995.
This is a VERY wet trail, especially after rains. Be sure and have the proper footwear. Ticks are also abundant in this area so be prepared to fend them off. The cache is right off a trail so please do not make your own. You'll be looking for a large metal first aid box that is painted brown. Cache is well covered with pine needles and branches. Please take care to re-cover the cache when you are done, being sure that the wind can't easily blow the cover away. Park hours are Sunday - Saturday 9am - 8pm.

Please be sure and use the trail head entrance to get on the trail. Don't cut your own path to the cache by taking a shortcut. It's about a .13 mile hike if you use the trail.

UPDATE 01/17/2007 The trail is considerably dry even though we have had rain off and on for a while now. The most wet part of the trail now has a wooden walk path built over it so unless you go during a downpour you can expect to remain dry for the most part. I also want to emphasize the importance of recovering the cache thoroughly when you are done with it. My recent maintenance found the cache sitting entirely out in the open. Once you have finished with the cache please make sure to cover it up completely so that it isn't visible to the naked eye. I would hate for this one to be stolen. It is in a well traveled area and if left out in the open it is likely that somone would simply remove it.
