Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VIRTUAL CACHE. THERE IS NOTHING HIDDEN. PART OF THIS “MISSION” IS IN DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK; THE OTHER PART IS IN THE INYO MOUNTAINS. USER NAME KEVIN & SUSAN WERE THE WINNERS OF OPERATION HIGH DESERT ADVENTURE NO.1. WILL THEY BE THE CHAMPIONS THIS TIME AROUND?

TEAM KFWB GPS WILL PAY $1,000.00 U.S. FUNDS TO THE FIRST INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM TO REACH ALL THE OBJECTIVES AS OUTLINED BELOW. THIS WILL BE THE ONLY AWARD GIVEN, BUT OTHERS IF THEY DESIRE, CAN ATTEMPT THIS ADVENTURE!

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. LET A RESPONSIBLE PERSON KNOW OF YOUR PLANS. YOU WILL BE HIKING IN TOUGH DESERT COUNTRY. IT WOULD BE ADVISABLE TO CARRY SURVIVAL GEAR AND PLENTY OF WATER. A SATELLITE PHONE IS ALSO STRONGLY ADVISED. TAKE SEVERAL EXTRA BATTERIES FOR YOUR GPS. A MINIMUM OF 5 PHOTOS SHOWING ARTIFACTS AND SURROUNDING SCENERY MUST BE TAKEN AT EACH OF THE UTM’S SPECIFIED. THE PHOTOS MUST BE POSTED ON THE CACHE PAGE UPON COMPLETION. PLEASE KEEP DETAILED RECORDS OF WHICH PHOTOS PERTAIN TO EACH UTM AS WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A CD MAILED TO US WITH ALL THE PHOTOS FOR OUR OWN RECORDS. PLEASE NOTE: THE POSITION AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE IS IN WGS-84. ALL THE UTM’S SHOWN BELOW ARE IN “NAD-27” CONUS TO COMPLY WITH THE USGS 1:24,000 TOPO MAPS. THE REQUIRED 1:24,000 TOPO MAPS ARE “CHLORIDE CITY”, AND “NEW YORK BUTTE”.

PLEASE LIST YOUR PHOTOS SO VIEWERS WILL KNOW WHICH PHOTO WAS TAKEN AT WHICH UTM.

YOU SHOULD BE IN GOOD PHYSICAL SHAPE AS AT ONE POINT YOU WILL EXCEED 11,000 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL.

PLEASE CONTACT USER NAME TEAM KFWB GPS WHEN ALL THE POSTED REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN MET AND POSTED ON THE CACHE PAGE.

TEAM KFWB GPS WILL PAY OUT THE $1,000.00 U.S. UP TO AND INCLUDING AUGUST 31, 2003.
