Geocache Description:

Can drive very close and park. Very slight down grade on the approach. Should be easy to walk. Don't use the gate, look you will see the easy way. The fence is there for safety reason's, and is ok to go around as long as you don't bring explosives. Clue: If talking to the security guard, your at the wrong gate.

The fort has been around to protect the straits for over a century, and in that time no enemy has dared to come near. Is it any wonder after seeing her majestic beauty. Think about being stationed here for any duration in the 1850's, and you know why Lt. U.S. Grant spent time just down the road in the stockade. This is a simple cache. I love the view and wanted to share it. Appears it couldn't protect the original cache. So the new one is a small Glad container, 3"x6". Inside you will find some stretchy lizards, and a log.
