We dedicate this cache to the memory of the first Silver Star cache that is missing and presumed dead. This cache is the first in our “fire lookout” series. Bring your Northwest Forest Pass, you will need it depending on your point of entry. Silver Star Peak (N 45 44.872” W 122 14.338) is 0.33 air miles away. There is an amazing web of trails in the area. Do your homework carefully and you will keep your off trail scrambling to a minimum. Please be careful not to trample all over the vegetation. A music CD, foreign currency, and other trinkets await visitors, not to mention a breathtaking view of Silver Star (at 145 degrees) and Mount Hood. Silver Star was the sight of a fire lookout that was removed long ago. The foundation still stands, along with some rusty nails.
