This cache is in a flat town. GPS results can jump around quite a bit at this site. We attribute the problem to the resident "ghost".
This ammo can geocache is one of a string of Lewis and Clark caches on the borders of Nebraska and Iowa along the Missouri River. This cache was placed with permission of the land owner and local help on the cache placement and lid contents.
It is along the Shannon Trail where Shannon wandered when he was lost for 16 days, so be sure to ask for a sticker at the desk in the hotel. Also, look for the carved, wooden horse statue which represents the nearby L&C Expedition campsite.
The Argo Hotel, listed on the National Historic Register, is a building that has been refurbished in a beautiful way that suits the Old West in its modern bed and breakfast as well as steakhouse.
