The container is a most recently a decon container. It
originally contained beads, foreign coins, polished stones, a
silver acorn, American Flag pin, praying hands pin, and a couple of
Sci-Fi characters. Please bring small items to exchange. It is
difficult to find because there are so many rocks in the area. The
distance you walk will depend where you decide to park and how far
you want to walk but it is a short distance from one of the parking
areas. The cache is very close to the trail, about 4 or 5 steps,
but it is rocky and easy to stumble so be careful of that "Old
Woman River". Some people who have visited in the past say it is
easy to slip on the rocks so I have upgraded the terrain to its
present level because of those last 5 steps. CAREFUL! Also please
be discrete as there are a lot of walkers and bikers along this
trail at certain times of the day and evening, plus curious people
live just across the canal within view of the area. Enjoy the River
and the walk.
Note - there is no need to do major landscaping in order to
find this cache. Leave the boulders where they are, and look under
things a 72 year-old woman can move.
Note 12/13/04 - I made a recent visit to make sure this cache
was still here because of two recent no finds. It is, but also is
well hidden. Some have said I should give a more usable hint but at
this point I'm not going to change the hint, instead, I'll just say
I am more than willing to send a more specific and usable hint if
you e-mail me. If I leave a real spoiler it will make this cache
too easy, and although most of my caches are very easy to find that
was not my intent with this one. The coordinates have been
rechecked and are right on so you should not have to search a huge
area.
