Geocache Description:

I adopted this cache from PhilG. Be prepared for a small hike or fairly easy mountain bike ride, with some hilly terrain. It's at 200ft elevation and 30 or so feet from a trail.

There are 2 places to park, but one of them is locked up at different times throughout the year, so be warned, check the sign on your way in and don't get locked in! For an easier walk or ride I suggest you use the parking area nearest the main road. For a little harder biking/walking challenge you might try parking at point "Q" on the free (simple) map which you can obtain at the site. For the more adventurous you could try getting to the site via a boat; the cache is very close to the river.

Wear grippy footwear as you might have to navigate some fairly steep terrain near the end. Bring bug repellent and water (leave a small bottle in the cache if you like as someone's going to forget one!). Most of the trail is in the shade, but sun block might be handy.

You might see on the way: Rabid mountain-bikers, whitetail deer, turtles, rabbits, racoons, squirrels and possibly snakes. You may want to use a stick in your search as critters may have set up home in the vicinity of the cache. I didn't see any snakes when I placed the cache, but be sensible.

NOTE: Permission for this cache was given by Harbison State Forest management. You may contact the Harbison State Forest Office at (803)896-8890 with any questions or if you need any assistance while in the forest.
