Located 16 miles north of Van Buren, this Forest
Service recreation area has a parking area and five picnicking
units. The site is a few hundred yards down a dirt road west of the
highway. We have seen the falls running from the first of October
through the end of May. If you've got the time, we have found that
it really adds to the experience to get up close to the falls.
Just south of the turnoff is an historic
Pennsylvania through steel truss bridge spanning Lee Creek. Built
in 1934, it is one of only four remaining in Arkansas, and is
listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
UPDATE: The cache is now in an ammo can and has
been relocated to a dryer spot. The coordinates at the top of this
page are for the new hiding spot. Just in case someone comes along
looking for the cache in the original cooridnates at N 35 28.942, W
094 23.852, we have hidden a note there instructing the finder to
go to the new coordinates.
8/20/2008 - We were asked by mooremonkeys if we would
adopt this cache and we gladly accepted. It's an honor to help keep
such a great cache in a wonderful location active. Thanks
John.
