From this location you are witness to many forms of human transportation: walkers, bikers, X-country skiers, rollerbladers, automobile drivers, airplane pilots, and riverboat and barge pilots all pass very close to this spot.
Look across the river and you can see a crane that is used to load barges.
As this location is in the landing pattern for St. Paul's Hollman Field you might get buzzed by anything from a single engine private plane to a corporate jet.
Also keep an eye peeled for birds of prey. I've seen both bald eagles and peregrine falcons soaring over the river between here and the cliffs below Mounds Park.
