Moon Lake Traditional Cache
Jägermeister.: It appears that this area is no longer open to the public. When I stopped by for a maintenance visit I found that the road has been gated and several posted signs are now there.
Cache container has been removed.

Located near the Moon Lake Recreation Area
This is a small recreation area with not much other than a boat launch and several picnic tables and grills. It does offer a nice view of the marina and lake. Since the area is so small I had to hide this cache a short walk away. Insect repellent is a must for this hunt. If it has rained recently, the walk could get muddy. The area is closed after dark and admission is free.

There have been several issues concerning this cache.
1. "Mud Dogs" have turned the once maintained dirt road into a series of large/deep mud holes. You will need to park near the boat ramp and walk in to the cache.
2. When I placed this cache, the area was well maintained. That is no longer the case. Weeds have taken over and are 6-7' high around the hide spot.
3. It seems that one cacher was told by a Wildlife agent that the cache was on posted property. When I placed the cache, I was informed that it was near but NOT on the posted section.
Since the area is no longer the scenic spot that it once was, I may move/remove this cache in the near future. Until then, please follow these tips. 1. Park near the boat ramp and walk in. 2. Wear a good pair of boots that you don't mind getting muddy. 3. Travel to the cache via the dirt road and don't walk through any posted areas. 4. Bug spray is a must and a walking stick wouldn't be a bad idea.
