Squaw Peak is a favorite hiking destination for those who live in the Provo/Orem area.
There are two typical trails to the top of Squaw Peak, through Rock canyon or straight up the west face. The canyon route is much easier for most and a popular trail. Straight up is quicker if you are in good shape and don't mind scrambling up loose rock and through scrub brush.
Expect the hike to take about 3 to 6 hours round trip.
If you hike the face, you will likely see big horn sheep about 1/3 of the way up. They were released there a couple of years ago and seem to be doing very well. The cache is in a small tupperware container. It is hidden away from the peak so that it wouldn't be found accidentally.
