Geocache Description:

Somewhere along the old roadbed of the T&T as it crosses Silver Lake, CA

This is a half gallon Mayo jar, cairned on the old Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad grade as it crosses Silver Lake. It could be a little rocky for the first timer, but easy for the experienced GeoCacher.

Please don't drive onto the lake bed, it's undergoing restoration as well as there's a possibility of hitting a sink hole.

Across CA 127 (~10 miles N. of Baker) is the site of the (later) town of Silver Lake and the Cemetary where Death Valley Jack is buried. N35° 22.396, W116° 07.000 for the grave.

The cache is close to where the original (1906-1916) station was located before the flood.

More history of the area is in a little booklet, together with the log - please leave this for the next finder. TIA.
