Geocache Description:

Wear shoes with good traction. Best to do this cache in the daytime so that the hint can help you. Find number at viewpoint for coordinates to cache box.

A landslide turned this steep little road through Water Board Park into a footpath. No bushwacking is necessary. Try writing a Haiku for your log entry. (Can't be any worse than this one!)

A tree in the road
with vertical reflectors.
You are getting close.

Romantic viewpoint.
Promontory. Tall white cross.
You have reached step one.

First enjoy the view.
Then get the clue to the cache
while parked at rock wall.

Pole at left guard rail
stamped "PGE Pole #"
use number for math.

Eerie old quarry.
Descent into mossy gloom.
Quest:Green plastic box!

-----------------------------------------
PGE Pole # = XXXX
XXXX - 2527 = AAA
XXXX - 2811 = BBB
N: 45.20.AAA W: 122.36.BBB
-----------------------------------------

If your GPS gets jumpy use the HINT. Cache is about 30 feet from the main trail, over some rocks.

Contains some pretty nice stuff plus a few low-end items. Please make a fair trade, leave the cache box standing upright and well hidden and PLEASE make sure the lid is tightly closed.

Stroller-friendly alternate path:
Get number at viewpoint then drive down to what was the Armory (N:45.21.054 / W:122.36.556). Walk up trail on left side of the building. Path is in better condition and not as steep from this direction.

Extras: Benchmark RD2494 is very close by, down a dirt trail to the right of the viewpoint. The path looks like its on private property, but the trail is actually part of this park. View from the benchmarks is worth the walk. (visit link) http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=RD2494

If you're into rock climbing, check out the trails to the crags in this park: (visit link) http://www.ask-an-expert.org/AAC/waterbd.html
