Geocache Description:

We created this Jackson Road, Seasonal Wildlife virtual cache because there were virtually no year-round caches available. Easy Drive up cache.

On our way to Star Valley Wyoming (Just shy of Jackson Hole) we found a disappointing amount of year-round caches. So we created a couple virtual caches of our own!

 Seasonal Wildlife

Big game animals like deer and elk move from the high country to lowlands during the winter to escape deep snow that buries their food supply. This annual movement is triggered by the relative length of days and nights as well as by the cold and snowy weather.

A portion of the local elk herd will winter here along the low sagebrush slope before you. The elk’s keen sense of smell and prevailing west winds will alert them to any danger from behind. They will carefully watch what goes on below.

Over 100 elk, mostly mature bulls, may winter here at any one time. How many can you see? Keep your eyes open for wildlife as you travel through the area.

To be eligible to claim you found this virtual cache, email me, in order, the first three types of animals that might spend the Spring, Summer, and Fall here.
Remember, please don't put your answers in the log (not even decrypted answers)
