In beautiful Bernheim Forest, off the Millennium Trail at about the 6.5 mile mark. This is an easy cache for the entire family that will require less than a one-half mile hike. After entering the park, drive back into the forest and past the fire tower on the end loop. Park at 37*54.418, 085*37.294. Take gravel road at right for about 90 yards to Millennium Trail on the LEFT. Follow the yellow triangles. (On return, follow the yellow disks.) Cache is within 75 feet of the Trail.
As of 12-09-06 the cache is an ammo box containing a fresh log and a variety of new, unrelated and marginally useful items. As of the same date a certain unnamed chicken has been born anew.
NOTE: There is no charge to enter Bernheim during weekdays, but there is a $5 charge to non-members during weekends. While at Bernheim, try to allocate enough time to go by the awesome new Visitor Center. There you can get information and free maps of all the fantastic trails and other resources at this truly wonderful resource. If you're not a member, you may want to inquire about becoming one, because I can assure you, you will want to keep coming back.
