Geocache Description:

Here's a Multi-Cache on the upper reaches of La Honda Creek. From these sites you can see the upper valley before it becomes a canyon.

I recommend that you start by, driving, riding, or walking, toward the coast from the intersection of California Highways 35 & 84 (N 37 23.193 W 122 15.883). Be careful when pulling out onto the road from the turnouts. They're all large enough, but the local drivers, like me, tend to drive a little fast at times.

The first location is at N37 21.853 W122 15.754. Here is a turnout where you can see the upper valley through the trees. Look for a Call Box (CBN).

Using the call box number compute: ABC = 380 + CBN and DEF = 766 + CBN. The next location is at N37 21.ABC W122 15.DEF

From location number 2 you get a view of the upper part of the valley and the Lone Madrone up on the hill. I don't know how old it is but it's at least 50 years old. Standing with your back to the road ALL of the land you see, with the exception of the 2 houses along the road, is part of the Rocking Martini Ranch. Yes, the entire half of the valley. You'll pass their Red Barn a little later on the right.

Here you will find 2 mail boxes. Both with the same number. Using the number compute: GHI = 754 + box#, JKL = box# - 146. The final location is at N37 20.GHI W122 16.JKL

Park safely off the pavement. There is plenty of room.

From here you can see the lower half of the valley before sides tighten up and it becomes a canyon. The cache is a round Rubbermaid container with a, Log book, Pen, and some goodies. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING ORGANIC. I really don't want to deal with the Raccoons.

At your feet and down the bank is Spanish Ranch Creek. That is private property so don't go there. Besides it's COVERED with Poison Oak.
