Butterfly Hill, Maybe Jimmy Hoffa is buried here? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Marko Ramius: I regret to inform you that the Center for Natural Lands Management, the land owner of the Rancho La Costa Habitat Conservation Area, has asked us to archive all of the caches in this area. We have requested more dialog on this topic in the hopes that we might establish reasonable guidelines for the future of caching here, but for now we much archive all the caches. Please revisit your cache and remove your cache container and any traces of the cache.

Thank you for your understanding.

Geocache Description:

This ridge above La Costa is one approach to the Copper Canyon Copper Mine Keychain Cache. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=3013

This hill was named Butterfly Hill by my daughter about five years ago. Via Mountain Trail-A-Bikes we climbed and met a biologist preparing an EIR for this rigdeline. He said that a particularly rare species of butterfly really liked this habitat. I think the project is called University Commons if anyone is interested...anyway, we planted this cache at sunset and had a moonrise to reward our climb. We hooked up with Nigel 'Chez and Stevie at the top. There are at least 4 ways down from here. There is a nice trail towards Olivenhain which has some crazy teeter-totter action for you drop-off lovers. It goes by the name of Knotts Berry Farm. There is a Hail Mary fire road down to the dump. We came down a butter smooth roller coaster ride dubbed Disneyland.

The cache is in a 2.5 lb cashew jar. Too small for a CD or paperback, big enough for a floppy disk. It contains: an address book to use as a log, pen and pencil, compass/bell for a bike, a few speed patches if you get a flat tire, a rattle snake skin from a road kill along Harmony Grove road, a blow-up saxaphone, a husky dog figurine...
