Geocache Description:

South of Rockingham. The area is now closed to 4WD, but it is a nice 2.6km return beach walk if you park in the right carpark. Dont risk getting bogged its loose sand.

Long point South of Rockingham. That was the popular name for this location. In days gone by there were Squatters shacks here but they are long gone as the suburbs keep rolling out.
We used to camp here 20 years ago on the beach now it’s just a nice place for fishermen or a day out. It may still be possible to camp (We think its unlikely now that you can camp but it you could fish all night with a beach shelter set up if you wanted to).
Times have changed and it does seem like like it is now no longer a 4WD area but we did notice there were 4WD's up at the point and there is a bypass track to get there. you will have to make your own mind weather you drive there or walk. Just be aware of the ranger.
Its an Enjoyable beach to walk on beach walk along and the water looks inviting for a swim.(2.6km in length return) then take that choice and leave your car at S 32.22.025 E 115.43.761 .
The cache is hidden in some scrub near the point and not far from the beach. Remember to re-hide it well. We also tied some colored scrap rope we found on the beach to one of the branches on the bush to assist in finding the correct location of the cache without pulling the plant apart (be gentle)….
Contents are varied but location is everything…and priceless.
