Geocache Description:

This is one of three caches we have placed in the Eastern end of Dimple Dell Regional Park. The round trip distance is approximately 1 mile, with moderate elevation changes.

(The water in “Dry Creek” fluctuates from day to day so be prepared to cross some water on your way to the cache.)

I am placing this cache as a tribute to Western New York's pioneers of Geocaching, "Red Headed Stranger & Co.". They have provided the starting cache items for this regular sized ammo can, which now has a home in Dimple Dell Park. You’ll note the pool related theme carries some irony due the dry nature of the local environment.

I tried to site this cache closer to the parking lot, however due to the unique dimple geography and the mountains to the east I had a hard time getting a good signal, hence you’ll have to hike a little further for the this one.

Do to the changing vegetation conditions make sure to cover the cache well after your find.

In the morning and evening you may catch some waterfowl landing on the pond just Northeast of the Amphitheater.

In the summer you will want to bring along some water and/or plan an early evening find. There are several picnic tables along the trails, maybe take a picnic and enjoy!

To those that have the time (and the endurance) you can grab three caches from the same trail system.
