Geocache Description:

Museum posted hours are 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The last couple years it seems to be random on when the museum is actually open. Admission is $2.00 adult and $1.00 children.

On April 30, 1900 Casey Jones made history when he failed to arrive at this destination. Casey was the engineer on the Illinois Central Railroads train #1, the Fast Mail, when he died in a wreck 15 miles north of here at Vaughan. Casey's part of the route was from Memphis to Canton. In order to claim credit for this virtual, you must visit the site and Email me the answer to the following questions. Click on my profile at the top of the cache description to Email me. Incorrect, incomplete, or missing Emails will have their logs deleted, as will any log entries that reveal spoilers to others.
In the museum is a Telegraph Register dated Friday, December 22, 1893. On the register is an entry for northbound train #4 with engineer Jones. WHAT IS THE ENGINE NUMBER?
Since the museum hours may make this cache difficult for some cachers, you may also claim credit for visiting after hours by answering BOTH of the following questions.
1. On the west side of the building is a sign giving the distance to Chicago and New Orleans. Directly below this sign and above the window is a row of vertical bricks. How many are there?
2. Also on the museum grounds is a benchmark located at N32 36.750 W90 02.422. BRIEFLY DESCRIBE THE TERRAIN WHERE THIS BENCH MARK IS LOCATED. While it is preferred that you visit the cache when the museum is open, either method will be accepted.
