Please no hints or spoilers in the logs.

Updated 02/08/05 - Please read Hints!

The coordinates above will take you to your first stop. This notable landmark is a two-thirds scale replica of the mythical figure of King Neptune, a bronze statue and fountain erected in Bologna, Italy in the 16th century. Unfortunately, the original one that was made in the early 1800’s was vandalized about 30 years ago. It had to put it into storage. There is an interesting story about that as well. Apparently someone decapitated the poor fellow. The head and arms were missing for several years, until someone found the pieces in a back yard down in Torrance.

There are four sides to this statue.

Decrypt the simple substitution cipher below for the next step.

UPDATE! (07/30/04)
Despite the fact that 9 people have solved this riddle and found the cache, and despite the fact that I put it together, apparently in the first step there is a Latin word there that we all have been assuming was a number. For those of you who speak Latin or Italian, please forgive me for my blunder. For the rest of you out there, assume the word you see at the first stop is a number....

Thanks to EMC for calling me on this one.

Good Luck!

02/08/2005 Update: Thanks to Michael (You know who you are) an error was discovered in my instructions for location #2. You should end up with a long. number that will look something like 20.xxx NOT 24.xxx
