Geocache Description:

A nice walk along the Beaver Creek Trail, not too far off of the trail.

Gifford Pinchot was born in 1865. After graduating from Yale, he went to France and became the first American trained in forestry. He was named the Chief Forester of the US Division of Forestry by his good friend, President Theodore Roosevelt. Later he became the governor of Pennsylvania. He was the first governor to have 2 women in his cabinet. Gifford Pinchot died in 1946 of leukemia. In 1961, Gifford Pinchot State Park was dedicated to him.
We suggest you start this hike by parking at the boat mooring located at: N40.04.108 W076.54.543. Beaver Creek Trail is a nice walk consisting of just about every type of terrain possible. There are swampy parts, rocky parts, soft pine needle covered areas, and gravel covered trails. The walk will take you around the western end of Pinchot Lake. WARNING: shot gun, muzzleloader, archery, and deer hunting are permitted in this area of the park, so be careful.
This cache was created April 19th, 2003, the day before Easter. It seems the Easter bunny knew he would have some eggs left over and he needed a place to stash them. The cache is a regular sized tupperware like container but inside are many Easter eggs. Please try to trade things that are small enough to fit inside of an egg. Hoppy hunting!
