Geocache Description:

This is the 2nd in a series of 4 caches along the Abandoned PA Turnpike east of Breezewood.

PLEASE NOTE - YOU WILL NEED A FLASHLIGHT TO LOCATE THIS CACHE, EVEN IN THE DAYTIME. It is also recomended that you completely read the name of the cache, the full description, and refer to a map before attempting to locate this cache. An alternative is to use the hint, but that takes all the fun out of it.

The cache is located just east of Breezewood along the old route of the PA Turnpike. The 10 mile section of roadbed has been turned into a bike trail. This trail contains 2 old roadway tunnels that that you may bike thru (you will need bike lights).

Update 6/15/06
The Altoids container is not the cache.
Difficulty rating increased to 5
THIS IS NOT A EASY CACHE TO FIND. There have been many complaints over the last 3 years that people couldn't find the cache and it must be lost, but this cache has never been lost.

Site Access ~ Walking
If you are not biking here is the best ways to access the area:
1- If you are just doing this and or caches #1 or #4
Park at Oregon Road And Oregon Camp:
40* 03.0582
-78* 08.9484
Follow the road in and STAY TO THE ROAD, DO NOT FOLLOW THE SIGNS FOR "TUNNEL TRAIL" The road will take you right up to the old turnpike, from there continue uphill to the tunnel.
2- Park at the end of the un-named road loacated at:
40* 02.9748
-78* 05.93699
Go past the yellow barricade which will take you to the area of cache #3. From there you can follow the old turnpike uphill to caches #2 & #4, then walk thru the tunnel to get to #1. This is less overall walking then parking at the other end.

Site Access ~ Biking
There has been some changes in access to the site. Please refer to: (visit link)
for the most up to date information on trail access. This cache is at the western end of the bike trail, and currently only the western trailhead is open for access. There are other ways to access the site, but that is up to you to figure out :-).
