This cache has been archived.

Moun10Bike: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Geocache Description:

This cache is set close to the beautiful Moyie Falls on the Moyie River.

To get to the cache site you will need to drive up the Lumberton Road which leaves the highway 10.4km south of Cranbrook. Keep your eyes wide open as you drive by the beaver ponds at the 6km mark on the Lumberton Road – there are often moose seen in this marshy area. Continue driving along the main Lumberton Road until you are a few metres past the 7km sign. There is ample parking to the right of the road at this spot. The 1km trail to the Falls starts directly opposite this parking spot. Continue up the trail, take a left at the “Caution, Gate Ahead” sign, duck under the yellow gate and continue down the hill. Cross the bridge at the .5km mark and continue upstream on the left hand bank. There is a well-marked trail to follow. The cache site is in a small quarry just before getting to the falls. The cache is fairly open to see and is placed in an overhanging spot on the rock face.

As you get closer to the falls you will see an opening to a mine in the side of the valley. If you are lucky the miner will be working with his small electric train bringing material out of the mineshaft. Do take care on the rocks close to the falls as they can become very slippery. You do not need to get too close to the falls to be able to appreciate them.

The cache is in a flat Tupperware container and originally contained:- A Gold Heart Pin, A Build Your Own Bison Kit, Some RCMP Collectible Cards, A Butterfly Candle, A magnetic Pickup Tool, A Scottie Key Chain, A Lightstick, Pad and Pencils.
