Early Spring time is the best time to reach this cache spot before the grape vines start to grow. The tough restricting beauty of the vines that interlace with the bushes is like a celtic knot. This has to be one of the toughest spot to get a cache out on top of a peak.
The route takes you through the picturesque desert landscapes of First Creek. Your journey is a long 6 miles of treking up through the creekbed of a deep canyon surrounded by steep, sandstone cliffs. With the dense vegetation and the house size boulder to negotiate around, it will definitly be a challenge to all that seek the cache. The cairns are few and at some point you must rely on other visual signs that mark the way, (broken or cut branches). It is to your advantage to stay on the trail,(it's hard to tell it is a trail).
Be prepared to get a few scratches from the brush that engulf the chutes. Long pants, long sleeve, and some leather gloves will protected you from getting scratched.
The cache is on the faux peak which is south of the real peak. The cache is in an metal canister. There are several small items in the canister along with a log book. Note: There is an Wilson Peak Log book in a plastic bag at N 36 05.616, W115 29.040. Make sure you sign that log book too.
