On Deception Island, a kayak or light inflatable is necessary to land on the island. Only the intrepid will make it. I've never been here when there wasn't at least one eagle - sometimes 8 - roosting.
Cache is placed near a bluff overlooking Rosario Strait and Strait of Juan de Fuca. Best reached at a 3+ tide. Climb the rocks to the west of the take out mentioned in the encrypted clue and you'll encounter the trail heading south. The cache is in a thousand-round-9mm ammo can.
