Quando andava à procura de um acesso mais fácil à Ermida de Santa
Ana encontrei uma estrada promissora, que serpenteava pelos montes,
mesmo na direcção certa. De repente acabou-se a estrada. Quando
tentei recuar as rodas começaram a patinar e fui incapaz de tirar
de lá o carro.
Portanto a situação estava negra. O carro atascado e tinha de ir à
procura de ajuda. Depois de uma imensamente longa caminhada cheguei
a uma casa perdida nos montes onde estava um casal muito velho (e
muito surdos também). Perguntei onde poderia encontrar alguém com
um tractor que me pudesse ajudar. Disseram-me que um dos seus
vizinhos tinha um tractor, por isso continuei a andar. Depois de
mais uma longa caminhada lá cheguei à casa do vizinho. Não estava!
Por isso fui atè à próxima casa, e à próxima, e à próxima... quem
tinha tractor não estava e quem estava não tinha tractor... e já
tinha andado quase 5 km.
Finalmente cheguei à casa de um Inglês que estava a fazer umas
obras em casa. E tinha um cão asmático (mas isso é outra
história)... Perguntei-lhe se sabia onde poderia encontrar um
tractor. Depois de ter tentado telefonar a um amigo decidiu tentar
ajudar-me com o seu Lada Niva. Para resumir um pouco a história,
estou de volta com o carro e com uma ideia para mais uma cache.
Veja se o dono da casa está. Se sim, não se esqueça de lhe
agradecer outra vez em nome do caramelo que conseguiu atascar a
carrinha!
A propósito, foi ele que me sugeriu o local para a cache, depois de
lhe ter pedido permissão e ter dito que os geocachers são boas
pessoas! Não me deixem ficar mal!

Assim poupará toneladas de chatices, afinal de contas a razão
desta cache é a busca desta estrada!
Depois bastará seguir para a primeira paragem. Faça um desvio e
visite (se estiver aberta) a Ermida de Santa Ana.
Nesta primeira parte da cache deverá estar exactamente em cima
de um marco geodésico muito mal feitinho, graças a Deus. Algures no
marco há uma data de reconstrução (mesmo por baixo de um borrão
verde). Era suposto ser um alvo de pontaria com uma cruz dentro de
um círculo, mas o vento levantou a máscara no preciso momento em
que comecei premi o bocal da lata de tinta...
Bom, tome essa data e some todos os seus algarismos (ex. 23/9/97
2+3+9+9+7=30). Agora tome este número, divida-o por 100 e some-o à
parte decimal dos minutos da localização não corrigida da próxima
paragem (ex. 30/100 = 0.300 a ser aplicado tanto à longitude como à
latitude).
Portanto as coordenadas finais da cache serão:
37º 15'.712 N + a correcção determinada anteriormente (ex. 37º
15'.712 N + 0'.300 = 37º 16'.012 N)
8º 17'.467 W + a correcção determinada anteriormente (ex. 8º
17'.467 W + 0'.300 = 8º 17'.767 W)

CORRECÇÃO DETERMINADA NA PRIMEIRA PARAGEM!

When I was looking for an easier access to St. Ann's Chappel I
found a very promising road, that went on and on just in the right
direction. Suddenly there was no more road. When I tried to back up
and make a U-turn the wheels moved, but not the car.
So I was stuck and had to go for help. After a very, very long walk
I came to an house where a very old (and very deaf) couple live. I
asked where could I find someone with a tractor. They told me that
a neighbour of theirs had a tractor and so I went there. After
another very long walk I reached the house. But the owner wasn't
in!
So I went to the next, and the next, and the next... either they
had a tractor but weren't in or they were in but didn't have a
tractor... and I had just walked about 5 km.
Finally I came to an house where an English man was doing some home
improvement. And had an asthmatic dog... I asked if he knew where I
could get a tractor. After he tried phoning a friend he decided to
try and help me with his Lada Niva. To cut a long story short, I'm
back with my car and a place to leave a new cache.
Be sure to find out if there is someone home. If so, say "Thanks
from the guy who got his van stuck!". By the way, it was him who
suggested the location for this cache, after I asked his permission
and assured him that geocachers are nice people! Don't let me
down!
You should start this cache hunt at:
37º 16'.446 N
8º 18'.552 W
This will spare you lots of trouble, since the reason for this
cache is the quest for this road!
You should then proceed to the first waypoint. Take a detour and
visit (if it's open) St. Ann's Chappel.
When you get to the first part of the cache you'll be standing
on very crooked beacon. Next you should find a date on the beacon
(it should be right under a green paint blot) It was supposed to be
a circle with a cross, but the wind blew my stencil, just when I
sprayed...
Well, take that date and add all the numbers (eg. 23/9/97
2+3+9+9+7=30). Now take this number, divide it by 100 and add it to
the decimal part of the minutes of the uncorrected waypoint (eg.
30/100 = 0.300 to be applied to both latitude and longitude).
So the final coordinates for the cache are:
37º 15'.712 N + the correction you found earlier (eg. 37º
15'.712 N + 0'.300 = 37º 16'.012 N)
8º 17'.467 W + the correction you found earlier (eg. 8º 17'.467 W +
0'.300 = 8º 17'.767 W)
THESE COORDINATES AREN'T THE REAL ONES, THEY HAVE TO BE
CORRECTED USING THE INFORMATION GATHERED AT THE FIRST
WAYPOINT!
And remember it is a micro-cache!
