Geocache Description:

A piece of Reedley History located in a quaint City park located across from City Hall. Bring a picnic or a book and enjoy it.

PLEASE NOTE: There are FIVE questions that must be answered to claim a find on this virtual cache.

This 'Turn-of-the-Century' bandstand is probably Reedley's first Performing Arts Building. The City's first band started in the 1890's and the gazebo bandstand was built soon after. In 1918, the bandstand became the property of band member 'Butch' Saile. It was moved to the Saile's backyard on D Street. Butch's wife, Alverta, had a wish to give this unique structure back to the city. That wish was fulfilled by her family in 1997.
The Bandstand

At the cache location, you will find the restored gazebo bandstand with an attached plaque. On it are some historical photos.

To log this virtual please e-mail us the answers to the following FIVE questions:
According to the picture on the left of the plaque, what was the city's first bandstand located in front of?
According to the picture of the city band on the right of the plaque, 'Butch' Saile is found in which row?
When was that picture taken? (Circa?)
What is the name of the newer and bigger bandstand about 50 feet to the northwest of the old gazebo bandstand?
What is on top of the lone, white, 2.5 foot tall column located about 60 feet south of the old gazebo bandstand?
Please do not post your answers here, even if they are encrypted, or we will have to delete them. Thank you.

PLEASE NOTE:
1 - Log your find and e-mail us the answers at the same time. This way you're not waiting for us to accept your answers to log your find, & we’re not waiting for your answers. This is supposed to be fun, and intended to get you out of the car to show you something you might not see otherwise. We tend to give finders the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the answers, so they don’t have to be perfect. If we have any questions or concerns about your log or answers, we'll let you know.
2 - By way of advice, don’t take a quick picture at the cache locations and expect to be able to read or otherwise extract the needed info from the pics when you get back home. Take a minute to look around and write down your answers while you’re there. “I couldn’t read/interpret/see/understand what was in my pic because it was too dark, too light, too wet, too hot, out of focus, or whatever” is not an acceptable answer.
3 - To claim a find, send us the answers. This is how virtual caches work. We should get a set of answers for every logged find from every Cacher logging a find. Due to some group abuse, we won’t accept group answers.
4 - No answers = No find.
5 - If YOU have questions about the cache, the logging procedure, or suggestions about the cache, don’t hesitate to contact us.
