Geocache Description:

Cache located West of Helper, Utah in the old Spring Canyon Mining district. Turn off Hwy 6 at the Swift's Stop & Shop. This will start you toward the mouth of Spring Canyon. Use common sense and your GPS from here.

The Spring Canyon mining district is a historic area that first saw mining activity around 1912. A number of different mining companies and communites have thrived in this canyon over the years. Currently there is no active mining going on. The once thriving communites are now ghost towns with old rock foundations. These "mining camps", were home to people of many different nationalities including my own father who lived here as a child.
The "Legend of the White Lady", has had local teenagers making frequent visits to the canyon to scare their friends by attempting to catch a glimpse of the ghost of the "White Lady" for many years. The story goes that a woman living in the canyon lost her husband in a mining accident and her ghost still roams the canyon attempting to find him.

The cache is in a 4" piece of PVC pipe 18" long.

Original contents of the cache are:

small flashlight
knife
sponge bob pin
olympic pin
hair clip
mini wrench
stuffed peach
