bykenut: Came to this park to watch the Amgen Tour of California bicycle race come pass here and checked on this cache. Looks like it's gone [:(].

This cache has had a nice long life here, starting when there were only a handful of caches in Davis. Now there are many more caches, including another one in this park, so it's time to say bye-bye. Thanks to all that visited [:)]!

Geocache Description:

An easy cache in a city park.

The Davis Double Century is a 200 mile in one day bicycle ride organized by the Davis Bicycle Club. The course travels through the farmlands of Yolo County, then west to Napa County, north to Clear Lake, east through Cache Creek, and back to Davis. About 1,000 bicyclists participate in this ride, which is held on the third Saturday in May.

This cache commemorates my 15th successful Davis Double Century and is hidden in a city park near the start / finish location of the ride.

Present cache is a 7 in round x 2 in high Rubbermaid container with a black lid. Original cache was a 6" x 6" x 2" clear Rubbermaid container with a blue rim. Initial contents included:
