Directions: There is an access to the Blue Ridge Parkway off of Hwy. 191 in the Bent Creek area between Asheville and Hendersonville. This will be near the entrance to the NC Arboretum. Follow the BRP sign about .3 mile and turn left onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cross the French Broad River Bridge and pull off on the right side of the road at N 35 30.051 W082 35.393 (just past the bridge). You will see the trailhead for the white blazed Mountain to Sea Trail.
This cache is very well hidden and there is no visual sign of its location. If you are not familiar with a Cherokee Marker tree we would recommend looking at the picture provided. The hint will almost insure your success.
This segment of the Mountain to Sea Trail while not flat is an easy hike with no large elevation changes. The cache container is a small plastic container about 5 inches high and 2.5 inch wide filled with SMALL exchangeable items. The cache is about 25 feet to the right of the trail and your GPS should point the way.
Please rehide the cache well, and remember that animals have a much keener sense of smell than we humans. Please do not place food, candy, gum, or any other scented items such as soaps, candles or "wipes" in the cache, as animals often mistake these items as food, and will destroy the cache container trying to get to it. Also, please hide the cache container so it is not visible, so that other geocachers may enjoy the hunt. - Thanks
