Post it to the Peavine Trail. Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Seeking: Thanks,GeoDesertTiger, for the reviewer note re: the disabled cache "Post it to the Peavine Trail". To be honest, I wasn't aware of the cache guidelines related to the "disabled" state of this cache. Thank-you for blocking other caches from entering the area around this cache. However, Given the fact that I live a significant distance from this cache and am not in a position to maintain it with the regularity it deserves, I will archive it, and hope that another geocacher will discover this absolutely beautiful riparian area and honor it with the posting of another geocache. Again, thanks for your concern and very helpful note.
All the very best,
Pat Thompson for Jan and Team seeking

Geocache Description:

Drive north out of Prescott on US 89. You will need to cross Granite Creek and approach the cache from the east side of Watson Lake.

Leave your vehicle at the parking area: N 34 34.524 W 112 25.644
This cache site is a relatively easy walk or ride from the Peavine Trail parking area. It is located, however, off of a side trail. This side trail is on your left as you walk or ride down the main Peavine Trail starting from the parking area and is not a great distance from the Trailhead.

The cache is a tupperware container that holds postcards from Arizona and other states and countries. The postcards are of different types and varieties and some of them date to the early 1900's and, therefore, might be of some interest to postcard collectors. The theme of this cache is a postcard exchange. Please leave a postcard and take one, if you decide to participate in the exchange. If you leave a postcard from another state in exchange for one from Arizona, please indicate that you are making that kind of an exchange on the back of the postcard that you leave at the cache. It will be interesting to see, if, over time, enough 'State' exchanges can be made so that all 49 states outside of Arizona are represented. You do not have to be from another state to leave a postcard from another state. But it would be interesting if you would note(on the back of the postcard you are exchanging) why you chose to place that particular postcard in the cache.

This is a wonderful scenic riparian area which is home to a variety of wildlife and aquatic species. We wish you an enjoyable excursion, and may the wind be always at your back.
