Geocache Description:

This cache has been deactivated for the winter months and will be reactivated on or about April 1.

Hyland Lake Park Reserve is in west Bloomington on Bush Lake Road.

You will need a canoe or some other type of small boat to reach this cache. Once you reach it, you will be able to paddle right up to it and cache right from your boat. Please wear a life jacket and keep an eye on your little ones. The water depth at the cache site is only about three feet deep. Please bring a plastic grocery bag with you to put any trash in that you find along the way. Inside the cache is a small, white pouch of rocks that absorb moisture. It is marked (Do Not Take) with a black marker. Please leave this in the cache as it will help keep it dry.

Canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, cycle boats and row boats may all be rented from the Three Rivers Parks District at the park. The coordinates of the rental building are, N44.49.450 W93.22.266. Bring your patron card for a discount. You will also need to bring and leave an ID before you rent. The prices are reasonable. (Canoes are about $6 an hour.)

If you have ever been to this park you will see what a nice job the Three Rivers Park District has done with it. With this in mind, please help support them and park your vehicle within the park. Annual vehicle permits are $25 and are valid for a full 12 months from the date of purchase at each of the Park District's 14 facilities. Daily parking is $4, Personal vehicle parking is FREE Monday - Thursdays (excluding holidays), at all Three Rivers Park District Facilities. Parking fees must be placed in the entry drop box when gate staff is not on duty.

There is a really cool playground for the kids here called Shutes and Ladders. It has lots of cool slides and things to climb on.
