WhooWhee it's Avenue B! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Rattlingcrew: I keep telling myself I am going to get back out here and replace this ammocan, but I do not seem to get it done. It was a good location to see some of the beauty Kansas has to offer, too bad the ammocan thieves have found it too.

Geocache Description:

Nice easy cache, once you get there!

You are looking for an OD green ammo can with some off colored spots to cover the yellow lettering. You will not have to cross any fences, please respect the property and hide here!

The original contents were four medicated bandaids and a pair of tweezers (just in case!) three waterballs, a mini whoopee cushion, four Hot Wheels, two policeman's prayers, and a thrmometer.

I would encourage you to approach this cache from the east, exit off of Interstate 70 at the Beverly Exit and turn south, turn west on Avenue B. There is an exception though, if there is thawing snow or fresh rain, do not attempt to approach from the east. This road gets mean!

If it is wet, when you get close to the cache from the west, do not crest that hill with your vehicle. Once the downhill slide starts, you are committed!

The view is fantastic and one of my favorite drives. We should appeal to the county to have it renamed Ridge Road. Anyway, wildlife is abundant here. Near the cache you will see the trucks slaving to climb over the hills westbound on Interstate 70. The valley sprawls out below you on both sides of the road as you approach.

I always find myself in awe as I set there on that high perch and watch the country below. If you have time, drive on west and then turn north at the intersection. Drive slowly back east along the northern side of the Interstate.

The view up here is outstanding! The countryside is littered with heartaches and broken dreams. Just look at some of the old stone buildings left behind and imagine they built those with hard labor and little cash. You will get the picture as you cross through the area.
