Geocache Description:

Southbound on US Route 25E: Parking is on a wide and ample gravel pullout on a road cut .
Northbound on US Route 25E: Left turn into the restaurant at (36 21.002N 083 23.856W), walk along the wide shoulder if you are comfortable with that.
.

There are at least three things we like about the area that made us want to put a cache there.

1. The fossils in the gray rock of the road cut. We have found brachiopods imprints (like clam shells), spiral shelled snails, and bryozonas (resembles corals). There are fossils in many rock outcroppings in the area but this one is easy to get to.

2. Vinegar pie (36 21.002N 083 23.856W). A nearby diner serves what is supposed to be a local Depression era pie recipe. Lemons were hard to come by so housewives substituted vinegar instead. This is the only place we have seen it so far.

3. The overlook (where GC94DE happens to be). Nice view and more fossils to be seen in the rocks of the wall.

Its not an isolated cache but has a nice view of its own. Its easy to drive to but involves a short scramble up a stable steep slope.
