The Geocache is about 1.4 miles southwest of the Caineville Cove Inn, along the old dirt road that parallels the Caineville canal.
Start at the Caineville Cove Inn located 18 miles east of the Capitol Reef Visitor Center. Drive south from Highway 24 on dirt road, turn to the west and pass the old church building, turn south across the Caineville Wash. Drive about a mile and there is an old cabin on the east side of the road. This is not the Behunin Cabin, but my Grandfather Charles Durfee, his wife and 2 children lived in this cabin when my mother was a small child. Stop here. Walk west and cross the canal on the water gate about 200 yards upstream. You will find a DUP marker by the historic Elijah Cutler Behunin cabin. Now your search begins.
HOPEFULLY, TO AVOID MOSQUITOS AND BITING BUGS, GO IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY!!
