a short walk on the northville-placid trail near lake durant will get you to this cache.
this stretch of road is my favorite. there is trailhead parking, a great place for bike riding on the wide shouldered road. a pull off picnic area a mile toward blue mtn. lake from the trailhead, and all around nice scenery. a fun side trip is a walk or bike ride on old rte 30 that runs next to lake durant and back on to the main road. there is also a state campground in the area.
as for the cache, contents are a mini-mug, sac.$, tuit, runes stone, mini-link, whistle, geocache pin, golf ball marker, and silly putty. take the northville-placid trail north toward long lake. in about 5 minutes you will come to a low mossy stone about 2 ft. across, just to the right of the trail. this was a fitting spot to decide what to do with the cache containing my travel bug, mossy maxim.
