Although there is some disagreement among scholars as to it's
overall length, we do know that the Desoto Trail stretches from
Southern Florida throughout the Southeastern United States.
The only complete description of DeSoto's and Vaca's main trail
through Florida was made when DeSoto's Thirty Lancers rode back
down his trail after guiding him to north Florida. Spanish
Conquistadors wrote the oldest histories we have of America, but
told a different story than the one we learned in school. Advances
in science have made it possible to track Conquistadors into native
villages that are cities again today, along trails we use as
